The organising committee of the International Symposium on 'Sustainable Environments in a Changing Global Context: Identifying Opportunities for Innovative Spaces and Practices in Contexts of Crisis' is pleased to announce that the symposium will be held in A Coruña, from the 25th to the 28th of June, 2013.
MAIN THEME
The symposium will seek to analyze the complex challenges posed by the structural changes in our global context and to explore new policy measures, other ways and instruments totransform existing urban and rural environments according to the ecological, social and economic principles of sustainability, including poverty alleviation and the promotion of equity.
It will seek to explore lessons from different parts of the world regarding the transformations in everyday built environments and to develop innovative synergies between solutions and adaptations encountered in multiple cultural contexts.
SPECIFIC THEMES
• Unequal changes in different parts of the world;
• limate change mitigation objectives in different countries• Residential and work environments and the new global contexts;
• Our space-related culture influenced by these new trends in our economic and political contexts;
• New challenges for the built environments;
• New technological and human solutions;
• New policy instruments;
• Opportunities for a culture of sustainable architecture and design;
• How social science research.
CALL FOR PAPERS
The Organizing Committee of the Joint Symposium of IAPS-CSBE, IAPS-Housing, and IAPS-Sustainability Networks welcomes the submission of original contributions for presentation at this Symposium.Submissions should be in English language. Papers will be selected through a double blind review process organized by an international scientific committee. First, we ask you to submit an abstract. If your abstract is selected, you will be informed about the acceptance and the presentation during the symposium. If revision of the paper is necessary, you will be invited to submit your revised abstract. In case that your abstract will not be accepted you will also be informed.
