International Gazimaðusa Symposium 2007

[i]First Call [/i] M e d i-T r i o l o g y- ‘C C C’ : Coastal Settlements - Culture - Conservation 8-10 October 2007. Eastern Mediterranean University, Gazimaðusa, North Cyprus The symposium aims to draw attention to the importance of the balance between conservation and development in the coastal settlements within the Mediterranean basin as the economic and social/cultural development remain crucial for the sustenance of coastal areas. Accordingly, what should be spoken or stressed at the 5th Gazimaðusa Symposium are; •The planning and management of coastal settlements which offer spatial planning policies that promote economic and social development and ensure the protection of nature, of areas for biological diversity, of landscape and of cultural heritage and the accessibility and free movement of the public to and along the coast. •The sustenance and conservation of culture, cultural heritage, nature and landscape values in the coastal settlements within the Mediterranean basin by the introduction of appropriate measures. •Cultural policies that facilitate the sustenance of local identity and social values. 15 December 2006 [b]Deadline for[/b]:Submission of paper and poster abstracts and pre-registration forms You may participate in this event either by presenting a paper or a poster.
