[i]At a Glance[/i] 24.09. – 29.10.2009, ARchENA, HIL, Hönggerberg, ETH Zurich The Institute for Building Technology (HBT) at ETH Zürich has come to enjoy wide recognition in the areas of structural engineering and construction. New challenges in teaching and research are emerging. The institute’s chairs have therefore decided to expand and restructure their content focus. In line with these changes, the Institute for Building Technology (HBT) is to be renamed the Institute for Technology in Architecture (ITA). The ITA is planning to host various events at the start of the 2009 fall semester that will provide a glance at the institute’s teaching and research activities. Included will be an exhibition presenting the work of the ITA. An exhibition by the Institute for Technology in Architecture (ITA) in collaboration with the Institute gta Symposium: Wednesday, 23 September 2009, 4 p.m, Auditorium, HIL, Hönggerberg, ETH Opening: Wednesday, 23 September 2009, 6 p.m, ARchENA, HIL, Hönggerberg, ETH [i]PRIX ACIER 2009[/i] Swiss Steel Construction Prize 1. – 29.10.2009, Architekturfoyer, HIL, Hönggerberg, ETH Zurich The Swiss Steel Construction Centre is awarding the ‘Prix Acier’ for the third time in 2009. The Swiss Steel Construction Prize is awarded every two years for buildings exemplifying the architectural quality and technological potential of steel construction. A total of 44 buildings were submitted for consideration for the ‘Prix Acier 2009’. The specialist jury awarded prizes to five projects. The award ceremony is to be held on 30 September 2009 at the ETH Zurich, Hönggerberg. The ‘Prix Acier 2009’ touring exhibition, presenting all of the winning projects, will also be officially opened at the award ceremony.
