London Tuesday 31st October 2006 The conference will debate the policy and strategy responses needed to exploit the economic and transport potential of the Thames and contribute to the successful and sustainable regeneration of the Gateway Thames Gateway is earmarked for massive restructuring over the next ten years, in order to accommodate the growth required in London’s housing capacity. The estimated 200,000 homesplanned for the region will radically alter the land use and landscape identity of the Thames waterfront, extending from Tower Bridge to the Estuary. The impact of Thames Gateway regeneration on the water space poses both challenges and opportunities for future development.
