Program on the People's Republic of China

[i]Lincoln Institute of Land Policy [/i] The Lincoln Institute of Land Policy Program on the People¹s Republic of China cordially invites proposals for academic papers addressing land issues in China. [b]Four focus areas [/b]are indicated below: 1. Land Market Development. This area focuses mainly on urban areas. 2. Land markets, planning, and urban development. This area focuses on the role of planning and market forces as determinants of urban development. 3. Financing urban development and expansion. This area focuses on the costs of public services and the revenue sources to pay for them. 4. Urban development and the poor. [b]PROPOSAL REQUIREMENTS: [/b] - Cover Sheet (include name, title, organization, contact information, email, co-author or research collaborator information) - Project Abstract (Project title, abstract should not exceed 150 words) - Table of Contents - Calendar of Activities - Budget - Project Description a) Research objective and specific research question b) Theoretical or conceptual framework and main hypothesis to be tested c) Methodology, sources of empirical data, and data collection strategy d) Expected results e) Description of partnerships (if research involves collaboration with academic institutions, government organizations, private sector, etc.) Selected individuals will be required to present their findings at a conference on May 21, 2007, at the Lincoln House in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Exceptional papers will be considered for inclusion in the Lincoln Institute Working Paper series. [b]Deadline for Submission of Abstracts [/b]­ September 15, 2006 [b]Deadline for Submission of Final Paper [/b]­ June 15, 2007 [b]Presentation at Lincoln House [/b]­ May 21, 2007 (tentative date) [b]AWARD AMOUNT [/b] Selected applicants will be awarded between $20,000 to $30,000 USD.
