The Institute of Architecture and Urban & Spatial Planning of Serbia organizes for the second time the Scientific Conference „Regional Development, Spatial Planning and Strategic Governance” (RESPAG) which will be held in Belgrade from 22 to 25 May 2013.




MAIN THEME
Placing the focus on regional development is aimed at emphasizing the specificities and differences at global level and in the light of world and European initiatives, as well as their influence on sustainable spatial development under conditions of climate change and sustainable use of resources, together with strategic governance and implementation of information systems. A contemporary approach to regional planning has to be interdisciplinary and take into account social specificities as well as physical characteristics which all together influence the spatial changes.

SPECIFIC THEMES
• European development initiatives and documents and their impact on sustainable spatial development;
• Sustainable regional and spatial development and strategic management;
• Pan-European corridors and their impact on spatial development;
• Sustainable spatial development under climate change condition.

CONFERENCE AIMS
• Improve knowledge basis;
• Experience exchange based on best practices;
• Dissiminate and intensificate professional communication and
establishment of network for joint research
