The project Medisdec-Stratmed (Programme Interreg IIIB MEDOCC) concluded its activities with the final conference held in Rome on October the 26th. The overall objective of the project has been to understand to what extent and trough what instruments the Member States and other countries can contribute to:
- New European priorities as expressed in the Lisbon and Goteborg declarations
- Mediterranean space and the European Spatial Development Perspective (ESDP)
- Cohesion and competitiveness in the MEDOCC area Medisdec-Stratmed involved partners from France, Greece, Italy, Portugal and Spain (Lazio, Piemonte, Sicilia, Umbria, Institut del Méditerranèe, Ministry of the Aegean see, Comunidad Autonoma de region Murcia, Generalitat de Catalunya, PACA, CCDR Alentejo, CCDR Algarve). The book copes with many territorial issues connected to regional development. Starting from pilot projects, the project result trigger interesting operational solutions for local development and above all suggest a proactive use of the concept of Polycentrism.
