La Biennale di Venezia 13th International Architecture Exhibition Common Ground PLANUM VIRTUAL TOUR
Venice, Italy
21-22 september 2012
Planum The Journal of Urbanism
Planum is going to be at Common Ground, the 13th International Architecture Exhibition of the Biennale di Venezia.
This year we want to give the opportunity to our readers to visit the exhibition even if they could not be there.
Recently Planum has been adopted a method to report some of the most interesting conferences and events: be "on air" thanks to our social network's channels. This mean that our followers can read summaries of the lecturers' speech or watch photos and short videos throughout facebook and twitter posts.
For the 13th Architecture Biennale we propose a Virtual Tour through the exhibition which means that you will be able to see posts in real time of photos, videos and infos about the projects.
If you have some specific request or suggestion that you want to see reported, there is the possibility to write us before or the very day of the Tour.
Soon we will also publish an article on Planum Magazine about the projects you can not miss.
DATES OF THE PLANUM'S TOUR
• 21.09.2012 Arsenale
• 22.09.2012 Giardini
ABOUT THE ARCHITECTURE BIENNALE
“With this year’s theme, Common Ground, we go back to talking about architecture– explains Paolo Baratta -to help architects emerge from the crisis of identity they are going through, and at the same time offering the public a chance to look inside architecture, make it familiar and discover that something can be asked of it, that something different is possible, that we are not condemned to passive acceptance.” Civil society is made up of individuals and institutions. These do not always seem capable of identifying the requirements for organizing the space we live in. In order to mend this fracture, la Biennale can make its contribution primarily by posing these as its themes. While not denying that there is a problem in the relationship between architecture and ecology, architecture and technology, and architecture and town planning, the crux is to mend the fracture between architecture and civil society.”
