Jean Tschumi (1904-1962)

[i]Architecture échelle grandeur[/i] 10.12.2008.–22.01.2009; Main hall, Zentrum, ETH Zurich The architect Jean Tschumi (1904 –1962), born in Geneva, is one of the most important representatives of modern architecture in Switzerland. His architectural work focused on France and Switzerland, and his best-known building is the Nestlé headquarters in Vevey, for which he received the distinguished Reynolds Prize in 1960. Jean Tschumi’s unpublished papers are held by the Archives de la Construction Moderne at the Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale in Lausanne. The extensive material has undergone scholarly examination and processing, and the results are being presented in the form of an exhibition with an accompanying publication.
