Rafael Viñoly Architects Training and Research Program Web Site

Rafael Viñoly Architects The new Rafael Viñoly Architects Training and Research Program Web Site is now live at http://www.rvatr.com/. The site provides comprehensive information about these two programs, open to applicants worldwide. We encourage you to forward this email to your members so they aware of these unique and pertinent opportunities. The programs in brief: The training and research programs at Rafael Viñoly Architects were launched in 2005 to generate architectural knowledge that is informed by practice yet exceeds the limits of commissioned work. The programs supplement both the offerings of universities and the experience of architectural employment. The training program aims to hone the professional skills of participants through a single-semester fall course at the firm's New York office. The research program seeks to expand the boundaries of design and practice by offering financial grants and technical support for individual research. This year, Rafael Viñoly Architects announces several program developments. The firm will award up to five grants of up to US$60,000 each for independent research projects focused on transformations in the built environment within dynamically changing societies. The deadline for proposals is August 1, 2008. In September, the firm will introduce a new curriculum for its training program. The deadline for application is July 15, 2008.
