THE CONFERENCE
The Smart City Event is a 2-day conference which provides the opportunity to learn about the latest developments in the world of sustainable innovation. Hear from city and corporate leaders who will share their experiences with implementing successful Smart projects. You can learn about smart grids, big data, lighting, e-mobility, sustainable building, e-health, and more. There will be representatives from more than 15 EU cities to come share their experiences.

Day 1
Overview of the most innovative examples of successful smart projects within Europe;
• 
Vision of the overall concept of Smart Cities;
• Options and financial support from the European Commission to realize smart projects;
• Challenges impacting the collaboration between government and corporations; Public-Private Partnerships;
• From separate elements to a complete and profitable business model;
• Boat tour with dinner on the canals of Amsterdam.
 Day 2
• Excursions: visits to various locations in and around Amsterdam where you can view smart city projects in action;
• Smart City of New Songdo;
• How do you create successful smart city projects with a diversity of stakeholders?;
• The benefits of making digital and emerging technologies available to all citizens, businesses and • sectors in the city;
• How do we engage citizens in smart city projects?;
• In small groups, you will share knowledge and experiences, generate solutions and discover new insights.
 

EXCURSIONS
Excursion 1 | Stadium, skyboxes and the technical areas
Excursion to the Amsterdam ArenA: you’ll have a look in the ‘energy-kitchen’ of the Ajax-stadium, which has a goal of becoming climate neutral in 2015. The tour will include the stadium, skybox and technical areas. Nuon will give an explanation about the city heating system. 
Excursion 2 | Innovation Hall in NEMO
Besides visiting the several interactive exhibitions and demonstrations of Smart Light, Power Matcher and Electric Mobility in NEMO participants will get the opportunity to participate in an exciting participatory activity. Students from Amsterdam will be mixing with professionals in order to play a discussion game on the topic of smart cities and sustainability.
Excursion 3 | Smart Grid Projects of Liander.
The first neighborhood in Europe were 35.000 people use smart grids.
