[i]Fourth International Conference on Sustainable Development and Planning[/i] 13 - 15 May 2009 Cyprus Following the success of the first three meetings (Skiathos, Greece 2003, Bologna, Italy 2005, and Algarve, Portugal 2007) it has been decided to reconvene the International Conference on Sustainable Development and Planning in 2009. The Conference addresses the subjects of regional development in an integrated way as well as in accordance with the principles of sustainability. It has become apparent that planners, environmentalists, architects, engineers, policy makers and economists have to work together in order to ensure that planning and development can meet our present needs without compromising the ability of future generations. WHO SHOULD ATTEND The conference will be of interest to planners, environmentalists, engineers, architects, ecologists, economists, policy makers and other governmental officials, researchers and academics involved in the field of sustainability. BENEFITS OF ATTENDING - Keep up-to-date with the latest advances in the field. - Present your research within a unique forum. - Collaborate with experts from around the world. - Your conference paper will be reviewed by members of the Committee and other colleagues and selected papers will be rapidly processed for publication in book form. - In addition, all papers in the conference book will be permanently archived in the Transactions of the Wessex Institute on our eLibrary site, where they will be available to the international scientific community. PAPER SUBMISSION Author Instructions Papers are invited on the topics outlined and others falling within the scope of the meeting. Abstracts of no more than 300 words should be submitted as soon as possible. We strongly encourage the submission of abstracts electronically. Abstracts should clearly state the purpose, results and conclusions of the work to be described in the final paper. Final acceptance will be based on the full-length paper, which if accepted for publication, must be presented at the conference. To be fair to all participants, each registered delegate will only be able to submit one paper. The language of the conference will be English. ABSTRACT SUBMISSION We strongly encourage the submission of abstracts electronically either through the website or via email.
