The 4^th World Congress of UCLG will take place in Rabat, Morocco, from 1^st to 4^th of October 2013 under the theme: “Imagine Society, Build Democracy”
Delegations from over 100 countries around the world are expected at the Summit, which will bring together leaders of local and regional governments, international organizations, public and private sectors, financial institutions and civil society.
 

THA AIM OF THE SUMMIT
This Summit will aim at giving leaders the opportunity to address the main issues about our cities and territories, such as the quality of citizens’ life, diversity, human investment in men and women, solidarity between territories and the urban future.
The Summit is envisaged to be a unique opportunity to present and discuss concrete local solutions to world challenges. It will also be the occasion to define policy, shape action and set future strategic goals for the new international development agenda. 

MAIN THEMES
The 2013 World Summit will be structured around two main concepts:
1. The contribution of local and regional authorities to the wellbeing of communities and the role in the Post 2015 development agenda;
2. The identification of the new challenges and models needed to answer the demand of an increasingly urban population as we work towards Habitat III in 2016.
